Effective Mole Control in the Moray area of North East Scotland
Moles are an ever increasing problem for the domestic gardener and large scale ground keeper. There are many different gadgets and chemicals on offer to rid you of this destructive visitor, however, in my experience most of these are either ineffective or a complete waste of time. Poisons and chemicals are usually at best environmentally unfriendly or at worse dangerous.
Live catching and relocating of Moles is also a flawed concept. There is usually one of two outcomes for the moved Mole; one being that it is released into another Moles territory where, being the incredibly territorial creature that they are, there is a fight to the death and the other is that it is released into an area with no existing empty tunnel network and the Mole starves to death before it can establish an adequate tunnel system to support itself.
The only truly effective way to solve a Mole problem is to trap it in a humane trap that kills the Mole quickly. I use a range of different traps that are designed for the different soil types and tunnel depths in your ground.
There are occasions when a Mole will not be caught as it may have vacated the tunnel system to find more food elsewhere. I charge by results and if I don’t catch a mole there is nothing to pay.
There is one very important fact to remember about Moles and that is that their control is ongoing in most instances. The fact that you have Moles means that you have Mole friendly soil and once the current inhabitants have been removed there is a good chance that others will move in. How long this will take varies greatly but more often than not it will happen. If it does then all you need to do is call me to the rescue.
I am unavailable for new clients as I can only provide a service to a finite number of properties. However should you wish to be taught how to trap your own moles I can offer tuition and two traps for a one off fee of £75.
